"What are you up to old timer?" I squinted as I looked into the sun..."OLD TIMER?
I thought to myself, "You talkin' to me, buddy?" but I heard myself say, "I'm walking for Christ; praying for America....anything I can pray for you about?" Turned out he had a son who was a truck driver who got hurt on the job but didn't tell anyone because he didn't want to lose any hours driving. The back injury got worse and now he can't drive. He can't get compensation because he didn't report it when it happened. The young man is twenty-three and feels like his life is over. All he ever wanted to be was a truck driver. I asked if "we" could pray for his son, he said I could but he had to run some errands.
I continued to walk and I spoke healing into his son's body, peace into his mind and life into his spirit. As I spoke to God, I thought about how many people have no confidence in prayer. They hope or wish it will work....they'll try it as a last resort...but....they don't really believe God has any interest in their every day life.
I felt the same way until I started to read God's Word. Jesus told us to "Have faith in God. Whoever says....and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for you." Jesus said, "Ask and you will receive." Jesus said, "I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He will give it to you." I decided to believe what Jesus said and that has made all the difference.
